Big Dig Backhoe Loader

Woody and Tonka are the reigning Backhoe Loader Duo, and they have it all! They are a tractor, excavator, and loader, an all-in-one powerhouse package! You’ll dig yourself into a big hole with the excavator, backfill with the loader, and then finish up carefully stacking tires into a pyramid. It’s an adrenaline packed experience not to miss!

How It Works

Driving heavy machinery is easier than you think! You’ll learn to operate the two joystick controls and follow your instructor’s guidance. You don’t even need a driver’s license!
Your 90 minute activity includes these approximate times—a brief safety class (15min), operating time (1hour), and graduation ceremony (15min).
You’re connected via wireless headset with your instructor during operation, who will guide you through your Dig. For 2-3 people, you’ll experience a side-by-side experience with wireless headset communication together.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a driver's license?

Nope, no driving experience is required!

Is the equipment air-conditioned or heated?

Absolutely! Our machines are fully climate-controlled, so no matter what the Vegas weather is doing, you’ll stay comfortably cool in the summer months.

Can my friends and family come to watch?

Yes! Of course! We have two dedicated areas for spectators to watch and take photos. Bring your sisters, cousins, uncles, and best friend if you’d like! The more the merrier! Plus, you need someone to vouch for you that you actually operated heavy equipment while in Las Vegas!

Can we split the time on a Big Dig?

No. Only one person per Big Dig. We have really cool tasks for you to perform, and once you’re on the machine, you won’t want to share anymore!

What is your cancellation policy?

Need to cancel your reservation at Dig This?
We get it. Plans can change.

You have the option to reschedule for a different date or time of your choosing; simply contact us at least 24 hours notice prior to the start of your reserved Dig Time.
Alternatively, convert your booking into a gift certificate worth the full value paid and choose a later date and time within one year from the original Dig Time.
If you prefer to cancel your booking completely, let us know at least 24 hours before your original Dig Time, and we will refund 50% of your original payment.

Dig This were absolutely incredible. My girlfriend has severe sight issues; she can’t see out of her left eye and her right eye has very limited vision. They told me it was not an issue. Well, she had a fantastic time. Her instructor was superb. I don’t recall the last time i have seen her smiling so much.

It Simply Was A Blast!

It’s cool to get to use both the front and back (bucket and loader). I was a little nervous but my instructor was AWESOME. Walked me through live step by step. I gained confidence so quickly. Felt like the hour went by in 15 minutes. So much fun.

Worth the price of admission. Our instructor was great! We drove the backhoe which gave us time to dig, refill and then move tires around. This is definitely one of those “only in Vegas” activities that I’d highly recommend.

The Second Time Was Just As Great!

This was the second time I’d been to Dig This and it was just as great the second time! In this experience you use the bulldozer and excavator functions. Lots of digging holes and filling them in again, moving tyres, and driving around the construction zone. A great option for those wanting to do something a little different while in Vegas!

Absolutely a great experience!

The instructor and participants wear headsets for communication. The instructor guides you through all functions of the machine The instructor was on the ground in constant communication with you however I was inside the cab operating the equipment. It was a blast, would do it again and recommend this activity!
